SENSES AND BRAIN ARE CONNECTED

All your senses are connected to the brain with nerves.
After receiving the information the BRAIN decides the best response.
The NERVOUS SYSTEM connects your senses with your brain.

TOUCH SMELL AND TASTE

TOUCH, SMELL AND TASTE

We use the sense of touch to identity characteristics of objects.

Objects can be:

·         Rough.
·         Smooth.
·         Hot.
·         Cold

We can distinguish between agreeable and painful sensations.

The skin is the sense organ of touch.
The body is covered with skin.
In your skin there are touch receptors that send information to the brain.
Sensitive parts of your body (lips, fingertips…) have more touch receptors.

The sense organ of the SMELL is the nose.

SMELLS enter  the nose through the NOSTRILS.

SMELLS  reach the OLFACTORY EPITHELIUM  in the NASAL CAVITY

SMELL RECEPTORS are located in the OLFACTORY EPITHELIUM.

SMELL RECEPTORS send signals to the OLFACTORY BULB
